Condo, Coach home, Townhouse, Mid-rise, High-rise, single-family?
When thinking about your property purchase there are so many things to consider. How will you choose? There are two primary factors that usually affect the buying process - Lifestyle and/or Location. Other factors exist in addition to these that help modify and solidify your decision. The decision process becomes even more challenging when it's an area you are not very familiar with and if you are working from afar. The information and resources available on this website should help to get you started. Of course, there's nothing like picking up the phone and having real conversation!
The right community for you depends on your specific needs. This will get you thinking and started well along the way.
How will you use your property? Careful and thoughtful consideration for this question will pay dividends for many years to come. Sometime the answer is easy - it will be you permanent primary residence. But for part time residents is can vary a lot e.g. six months out of the year, three months, a few weeks at a time several times per year, or perhaps long weekends quite often.
Lifestyle - When you arrive at your property what will you likely be doing? What conveniences and amenities should be steps from your door, what should be available in the community, and what activities that are a short drive away are acceptable? What are you passionate about? Lifestyle choices include dining, golf, boating, spa & fitness, tennis, and the beach.
When you narrow down the categories there are many choices within each. For example, golf. Does an Executive Course suit you or were you thinking a Championship Course or maybe a PGA or TPC course. Likewise with boating. Are you thinking a 700 acre lake for water and jet skiing or are you thinking a short drive to where my boat is docked or are you thinking that the marina should be right in my community all with access to the Gulf of Mexico.
